Laces

We work with only the finest laces available, imported directly from workshops in France. If you don’t like the lace you’ve seen in factory-made gowns, you’ll want to see real hand-worked lace. There’s no comparison!

Chantilly

A lightweight, delicate lace with floral or vine motifs embroidered on fine net. Because Chantilly lace has a more fragile look, it suits delicate designs and brides with small frames. It is available beaded for a hint of sparkle, or unbeaded.

Chantilly lace is especially beautiful for sheer sleeves and for bodice designs where a sheer lace overlay extends into a high neck. It is also well-suited to allover lace gowns in close-cut styles, such as mermaid or sheath designs.

Alencon

A heavier-weight lace that starts out as Chantilly, lace-makers hand-apply fine satin cord around individual motifs to create dramatic Alencon lace. Alencon is considered the Queen of laces, and its unmatchable beauty and elegance make it very popular for bridal gowns. In fact, we often hear that brides thought they didn’t like lace, until they saw the incredible artwork of hand-made Alencon. Alencon lace is available beaded or unbeaded.

Alencon lace makes spectacular bodice overlays. It is also beautiful as a scalloped skirt edging, or ornamenting a train. Many brides choose a matching lace shrug or jacket to finish their look.

Alencon’s firm structure also make it an ideal choice for a sumptuous allover lace a-line or ballgown style. An allover Alencon gown isn’t inexpensive, but the look is purely breathtaking!
